About

Amy McPherson is an illustrator and printmaker, making tactile mixed media work for publishing and editorial contexts.

Using traditional media, such as collage and oil pastel, as well as printmaking processes and (occasionally) digital drawing; Amy’s work brings to life a variety of fiction and non-fiction stories, aiming to inspire curiosity and joy in its audiences.

Amy’s design process is intuitive, informed by the media and techniques she is working with. In a design landscape saturated with digital content, Amy is passionate about working with analogue materials and craft processes such as printmaking and crochet, to create evocative work which appeals to those who are playful and curious to learn about the world around them.

Amy attended Edinburgh College of Art, where she received a degree in Illustration. After graduating, Amy featured in a number of exhibitions and fairs, including Scope Renfrewshire Showcase, DEPARTMNT Aberdeen, and Macrobert Handmade Fair. Recently, Amy won Ocean Generation’s ‘Design Your Ocean’ poster competition.

Amy is based in Paisley, and working throughout central Scotland. When she isn’t making a mess in the name of illustration, Amy can be found making a mess in the name of a good vegan meal, or curled up with a book.
